The Most Important Lesson
My Dear Students,
Today, I want to share a very important lesson with you. In fact, it may be the most important lesson you ever learn.
It’s not something that is taught in schools (although maybe it should be). And it’s not something that we always learn from our parents.
In fact, this is a lesson that is understood by only a very small fraction of the population.
Have you ever heard of a story like this?
For example, two brilliant engineers come up with a fantastic idea – build a prototype of their invention on their kitchen table – then sell their product and become millionaires “overnight.”
Sounds great, right? But, what’s wrong with that story?
Actually, what I explained above is only a tiny part of the story.
You always read stories like these in the newspapers –
“Overnight Success!”
and some of them even become ‘modern legends’
“Bill Gates drops out of university and becomes a millionaire!”
Stories like these help sell newspapers – but in reality, there is no such thing as “overnight success”.
They don’t tell you about the 5 years that Bill Gates spent before the launch of “Micro-Soft.” How he learned to write programs by trying and failing.
How he worked night and day to create something which had never existed before.
How he used every ounce of his energy and all his family’s resources in order to make his dream come true.
Here’s the lesson:
All of the successful people you read about went through 10’s or maybe even 100’s of failures before they finally reached their goals.
In fact, they never would have reached success without all those failures.
All the great heroes of history – all had to go through failure again and again on their journeys. But eventually, they overcame their difficulties.
It was not ‘never failing’ that made them heroes. It was their ability to keep going no matter how many times they had failed before.
I want to give you a very important piece of advice that you should remember as you work to improve your English:
Your future success has nothing to do with past results. Just because you weren’t able to improve your English speaking in the past does NOT mean that you will never be able to.
YOU are a powerful person.
You have talent. You have intelligence.
And you have the ability to succeed in anything you choose to do.
Remember this lesson – and you will learn to speak English fluently and confidently.
İyi Çalışmalar,
Ian Przybylinski

That always makes my day great!
